MERRIE ANNETTE JOHNSON

 

Merrie Annette Johnson, 61, of Jasper, Tennessee, gained her angel wings on Sunday, March 3, 2024, after a long battle with illness.

 

Merrie was born on August 7, 1962, to James and Charlotte Howard Smith.  She graduated from South Pittsburg High School in 1980.  She married the love of her life, Terry Mack Johnson Sr. in 1980 and they had two children together.  For much of her life, Merrie was a waitress, she enjoyed interacting with people.  Everyone adored her for her kindness, and her sweet, generous-kindhearted spirit.  Merrie was a devoted wife, an amazing mother, and a phenomenal Nana who loved her grandchildren more than anything.  She loved her family, friends, and her faith.  She enjoyed reading, listening to country music, enjoying delicious food and spending time with her friends and family.  To know Merrie was to love her.  She will be eternally missed, but forever in our hearts.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. Smith, Sr. and Charlotte Howard Smith.

 

She is survived by her husband, Terry Mack Johnson, Sr.; children, Heather (Benjamin) Chambers, Terry (Natasha) Mack Johnson, Jr.; siblings, James C. Smith, Jr., Bobby (Debbie) Smith and Joel Smith; grandchildren, Anna and Alexander Chambers, Kaidyn and James Colton Mack Johnson; special sister, Kathy Johnson Grider several nieces’, nephews and special friends.

 

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor Ronnie Case officiating.
