BETTY PRICE

Betty Price, 94, of Hixson, Tennessee was called home on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.  On February 13, 1930, she was born to the late Hubert Hardy and Kassie Adams Hardy.  Betty was married to the late James Keahey and later to the late Joe Price.  She owned her own beauty shop and was a Hairdresser.  Betty was a strong-willed independent lady.  Where to begin to describe a life well lived?  Betty Louise Hardy was born in a log cabin in Mineral Springs, Tennessee.  Her eldest son (Danny) was the last person born in that cabin.  Betty’s first husband James was also from Mineral Springs and was killed in a boating accident when Betty was just 25 years old, with two young children (Danny 8) and (Sharon 5) to raise.  Betty’s parents moved into her house and took care of Danny and Sharon while she first worked as a dental assistant in Jasper, and then completed beauty school in Chattanooga.  In Chattanooga she worked at several salons where she met and married Joe Price.  Soon she established a beauty shop in her new home in Rivermont, Tennessee.  There Betty and Joe blessed the family with a set of twins (Deborah and Douglas).  Betty continues to be a role model and an inspiration to her children and will be remembered and loved forever.

Betty is preceded in death by her father, Hubert Hardy; mother, Kassie Adams Hardy; first husband, James Keahey; second husband, Joe Price; brother, Howard Hardy; sisters, Carolyn Curtis, Margaret Dagnan and Lorean Fallin.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Danny (Reggina) Keahey, Douglas (Lisa Dobbins) Price; daughters, Sharon (Donnie) Roddy, Deborah (Mark) Mariakis; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

A joyful celebration of Betty’s life is planned for her many friends and family on May 11, 2024, at the Western Sizzlin Restaurant in Jasper, Tennessee from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm CST.  As Betty wished, “Let the Party Begin!”
